The King County Medical Society Community Foundation
A nonprofit 501(c)3 charitable organization formed to serve as a unifying organization to improve the health of the people of Seattle/King County, and a lasting legacy of the King County Medical Society, the KCMS Community Foundation continues the Society’s enduring commitment to advance both the profession of medicine and the caring and concern of the physician-patient relationship through its educational and charitable giving programs in the following areas:
- Community: Promoting civic responsibility through community charitable gifts, development, outreach and volunteerism.
- Education: Conducting research and education in the medical sciences; promoting and providing support for medical education including scholarships and mentoring.
- History: Preserving and maintaining the rich history of medicine and public health in King County through education, special programs, and the curation of archives and a rare book library; and supporting the maintenance of the historical building in Seattle owned by the Society.
