Donations made to the KCMS Community Foundation can be directed to the Underrepresented in Medicine Scholars Award (URiM)
The King County Medical Society Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 entity, is offering scholarships to support URiM* medical students. The Society Community Foundation acknowledges the historical and enduring effects of racism on Black and Indigenous people as well as other People of Color in our society. We acknowledge the unique structural challenges that URiM students face during medical training and throughout their careers. The Medical Society believes that diversity and inclusion in medicine remain critical to our nation’s much-needed efforts to promote health equity to create better health and security for all.
The Scholarship Application Evaluation Committee will review applications from URiM students and consider factors including financial need, personal statement, academic achievement, community and public service, and interest in public health or health disparities work.
*URiM to be determined by AAMC criteria
