Grant Details
Eligibility: Full-time students currently enrolled in an accredited medical school program in Washington state leading to an M.D. or D.O. degree. Programs accredited by The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM).

- Involvement in public health or health disparities work
The Grant Application Evaluation Committee, consisting of the KCMS Grant Committee, KCMS’s CEO, and KCMS Board of Trustees Members and community partners, reviews all applications. All grants are awarded in compliance with KCMS-CF policies and purposes.

- Named Grants: Create a personalized grant with a minimum endowment of $10,000. Set the grant criteria based on your interests.
Establishing an Endowed Grants
- Create an Endowment: Work with our staff to establish an endowed grant in the name of a loved one or yourself. Endowments start with a minimum of $10,000, contributed in full or over time.
- Set Grants Criteria: Choose the name and criteria for the grant, such as area of interest, leadership potential, or academic achievement.
- Administer Funds: A selection committee, in collaboration with medical schools, reviews applications and selects recipients based on donor-established criteria. Major contributors are notified annually about the recipients.
Tax Benefits of Funding a Grants: An outright gift in cash or appreciated securities offers immediate tax benefits, including potential capital gains tax avoidance. You can also establish a grant through your estate plans, providing lasting support without affecting your current income.
