Enhancing Care for Recurrent/Metastatic Cervical Cancer
Welcome to the project page for KCMS’s cervical cancer initiative, funded by Pfizer and Genmab. This important program is focused on improving outcomes for patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer by addressing barriers in knowledge, clinical confidence, and access — particularly in underserved populations.
🔍 Our Progress So Far
✅ Baseline Survey Completion
We conducted a comprehensive national survey of healthcare professionals across disciplines. The results revealed:
- Delays in referral pathways and limited access to specialists
- Gaps in awareness of emerging treatments and clinical trials
- Disparities in care delivery affecting historically marginalized communities
- Burnout and time constraints that hinder meaningful care conversations
✅Outreach & Engagement
- Broad Participation: Promoted across newsletters, social media, and KCMS networks
- Strong Response: Input from a diverse range of clinical roles and settings
- Expert Collaboration: A multidisciplinary tumor panel guiding resource development and strategic direction
✅ Educational Resource Development
Drawing on survey insights, we launched a short-form video series on YouTube, designed for real-world clinical settings and team education.

Facilitating Collaboration We are planning learning engagement activities to support knowledge exchange and practical application.
Ongoing Impact Evaluation We will monitor and evaluate the reach and usefulness of all resources to ensure they improve real-world care for patients facing recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer.
Join Us in Advancing Equity and Care This initiative is about more than education — it’s about creating a culture of collaboration, trust, and timely, equitable care. All materials are free and accessible to those working on the frontlines of cancer care.
